The monster post

Monsters have personality too.

Cornelius in the Raw
Original concept, but thanks to Darcy Korch, this guy is now in the third dimension.

Algernon
He helped his monster barber to put all 18 children through college.

Quigley
Typical: Has great curly hair, but would live to have straight locks.

Chuey
Quick and slick.

Asteroth
Like a shark, this efficient machine is all about running and smiling.

More coming soon...

Just picked up a new scanner a couple of days ago, so the pics should look much better from the ol' sketchbook.
Coming very soon...

O-Key, Cheese-I and the penguin

Here's another robot and monster.  While trying to explore this theme, I find myself trying to incorporate more stories into my drawings. Sometimes a character design is good to get out of the system, but the stories are much more rewarding.

O-key and Cheese-I
You may be big, but I'm small.

And a fire-breathing penguin, of course.

Robots and monsters descend on Comic-Con

Headed to Comic-Con and realized that I forgot to upload some drawings last night!  Chalk it up to more Oddworld New 'n' Tasty... man that game is good.

C.P.R. 30-2

In honor of Oddworld New 'n' Tasty launching tonight...

Back in 1997, I went to my friend Paul's house to check out his PlayStation. I played this game. Because of Abe, I bought a PlayStation.
I've saved thousands of Mudokons since then and am super excited to play this updated version.
Abe, this drawing is for you.

A thinker, an odd couple, a big guy and a sneak

A few more additions to the blog. Happy to have filled a sketchbook from cover-to-cover for the first time in my life. Looking forward to sharing it with you.

Filament
Always has a bright idea.

R.T.Deco and Byte
An unlikely pair.

Agamemnon
Molasses run like water compared to this guy.

Private
Better to have him in your troop than not.

Robots in the bathroom

I created these when my son wanted artwork for the bathroom and I asked him what he would like.  "Robots!" he said.
And so it was born…

And one more thing...

This is what it's like when worlds collide ...

Powermonster 5000

Kafka, Kyan, i2i and Sad Robot

I hope that these creatures are finding homes with you. Of all things, Let me know if any of these stand out to you.  With enough nods, I'd like to fully color and complete those that people like the most.

Kafka
He maintains balance through existentialism... and between his beak and horn.

Kyan
Though she clings to everything she touches, she's as sweet as honey.

i2i
Always paranoid, always watching.

Sad Robot
Of no ofiliation to JJ Abrams, Bad Robot or anything leading to copyright infringement.

2 monsters and 2 robots = 4 fun!

Adding to the party of monsters are Zahn and Kenya, while ILU-2 and G2-P1 are welcomed to the robot fray.

Zahn is a happy fellow, so long as the dentist has no bad news.

ILU-2 is crazy for 20th century technology... especially the kind that likes to travel.

Kenya is super chill despite his intimidating appearance.

And as for G2-P1... curiosity and illiteracy might not mix well.

More coming this Friday!

Some more members of the family.

Too creepy to be that calm.

An octopus and a zombie walk into the baby ward...

Oops.

Cornelius in the nude - for now

Illustration, model and print completed. A little sanding and some paint and Cornelius comes to life!

First robots

In addition to monsters, robots have a special place for me.  Here are a group of recent sketches.  Many more to come.

First monsters

Here are a few monster sketches to get the ball rolling.

Introductions

Welcome to my blog!  After exploring a theme that continues to draw me to my sketch pad, I'd like to share my sketches with you.
While I plan on keeping up the sketches, knowing which sketches really appeal to people will help me find the sketches that should become polished prints or even desk buddies.
I'm interested in your feedback and opinions of where to go, so please share!  Otherwise, enjoy my sketches, as they are for you.
